Hood Idea

Heres an idea that I would like to bounce off of you guys. I know the stock engine in the Z does not give that much room for radical hoods. My idea is if you had a V8Z would it have enough room for a hood thats looks identical to the one used on the shelby 1 series. Its sort of a reverse cowl hood where the cowl goes down into the engine bay.

heres a pic for those who don't have any idea what i'm talking about...

You know if it were to a smaller scale that may work. I think I read that all that style hood is for is creating downforce on the front of the car and I think it lets the radiator air pass over it cooling the water better. That would look cool if it would/could be incorperated onto a Z. I think the new Ford GT has a similar hood. It may work better if the vents are to the sides like this to clear the motor...also they would be smaller on the Z. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah its meant so lliterallly suck the air through the radiator and allow it to evacuate immediately. As far as clearance goes, with a V8 you'd probably have a little more room to work with. Especially if you went with an electric fan to give you a little more clearance.

once i get my engine installed i'll have some sheetmetal friends help me design a hood and maybe fab one for test fitting then make a mold to go to fiberglass... ect...
