<a href="http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll89/280zx2by2/?action=view&current=DSCN0245.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll89/280zx2by2/DSCN0245.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

got a hazard light switch from a 79 that has 5 green wires, problem is my 81 has 4 green wires, a blue and a red...

79 wire colors

-solid green
-green w/ white stripe
-green w/black stripe
-green w/yellow stripe
-green w/ red stripe

81 wire colors

-red w/ white stripe
-solid blue
-2 solid green wires
-green w/red stripe
-green w/ yellow stripe

i need the harness from the 79 (as mine was missing) is this still plug and play or what? :102:

BTW HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!!!!!!!!! :038:

NismoPick 12-31-2008 08:59 AM

Is the plug different as well?

280zx2by2 12-31-2008 09:02 AM

no i think the plug is the same just dif wires going into it, dont know if i should try to just plug it in as there might be an explosion, or just some smoke...

i just went through my FSM wireing diagram, the cooling fan is connected to the hazard light switch, why?

it does explain why when i removed an alarm system that was connected to my hazards my fan quit working

NismoPick 12-31-2008 09:38 AM

The cooling fan? As in the injector / manifold fan?

Maybe Nissan thought it would be bad to have the fan come on if you are stranded... :D

what i was thinking, like if you were over heating

well i went out and pluged it in, it works, but only when the power is on, the odd wire out is a red w/ white stripe (power wire mabe?)

do 79 hazards work w/o the power on?

CAN SOME ONE GO OUT...

to their 280zx and turn on the hazard lights w/o the key in

when you come back can you answer me this riddle,

when you turn on you hazard light switch, does the car turn on? exaple: fuel pump turns on, and you can use power windows...

like if you turned the key past acc. into the ON position...

i have checking both of my parents fords and the only thing that comes on when the hazard light switch is on, is the blinkers....

I would... but I'm at work... and my Z is buried in the back of my garage somewhere....

Why post a new thread? Just hijack someone else's 10th anniversary thread with your question.

thank you SpeciallySpiked, i got tired of bleach not doing a simple task for me, so i realized that it wouldnt be safe for them to have the fuel pump running while your cars sitting on the side of the road so i got to looking and found a hole bunch of connectors linking all kinds of crap, disconnected them pluged in my switch and every thing worked

thank you again...
