Bonnet vents

Hi folks,

Ive seen a few images in the gallery with ZX's with symetrical bonnet vents.

My 82 zx has asymetrical bonnet vents.

Is there a difference in models? Was the symetrical bonnet available in Australia?

Much prefer the look of symetry.

Cheers.

Pete

The symetrical vents were the first design from 1979-81. In 1981 only the turbo models had the larger vents in the hood. In 1982-83 Nissan decided to not manufacture the smaller vents and used the larger turbo vents on all 280zx models for those two years.

if you have a turbo id sudjest you keep that tubo hood but if its a n/a you can go with the symetrical hood.. the turbo hood was designed to draw air down to cool the turbo...

Any one seen or tried those black replacement vent msa sells for the old hood. They look pretty cool from the picture in the catalog. Are they more functional scoops?
