Painting the block

I have some flat black 1200* hi temp and some nice ford navy blue 500* paint. Can i paint the block with the 500? or should i just opt for the uglier higher 1200? or....can i go 1200 and then 500 on top?

i just hotanked my block for 4 days so i'll see what it looks like today...

Merged with your previous "Block Painting" thread.

Yes, you can use 500* on the block... since the paint will be the least of your worries if your block actually gets to 500*F.

for your engine, use epoxy primer, then single stage ppg paint. ittl stay fresh until it gets blasted off. use ppg 2001e clear for the alum parts. as for exhaust, turbo parts are useless, and n/a and way back of the turbo, i like to use bbq paint. it works great and can handle temps. it usually is better quality and costs more. por-15 is also awesome paint, ive used some, but never the high temp kind.
