So this morning I am putting in my new shifter bushings. I succeed in doing so and put the center console back on. I start up the car. I back up about a foot and then I hear grinding. On the floor under the car, I find an "L" shaped cap with threads that screw in to something. It is about 1 inch long on each side of the "L". I have no idea what it screws into. There is this tube that comes out of my block on the drivers side up near the radiator that has a gasket on the end with nothing attached. When I put the piece in there, I still hear the loud noise and popping that came after the growling so I assume that that is not it. WTF? Any ideas?
