What do you think?

Hey guys!

So I've managed to get all of my issues seemingly solved with my Z. Just took it for a 100 mile trip and it ran awesome! I plan on getting it smogged later this week or early next week (fingers crossed).

Now it's time for future plans. I really only bought this 280zxt because I got such a great deal on it, but what I really want is a 240z.. so I am planning on putting my car up for sale sometime in the next couple months. If I don't get enough money offered for it, I think I'm just going to swap the entire drivetrain over into a restored 240z shell.

For those unfamiliar, my car is an '82 280zx Turbo, rebuilt engine, new t3/t4 hybrid turbo, 5 speed, z31 ecu, helical type LSD, it's got a pretty good interior minus the back, needs fresh paint and some body work, and more I'm sure I'm missing..

Now, if I end up going through with the swap, I plan on setting up a front mount and running a bit more boost.. so I'll need bigger injectors as well. Should I stick with the z31 setup? Or go for something like Megasquirt.. this would be my first time wiring up an ecu but I've been doing a bunch of reading and I think I could manage. I guess a good question is, how much boost can I run "reliably" on a stock rebuilt engine (No upgraded head bolts or anything), and keeping the z31 ecu.

Either way this goes, hopefully within a few months I'll be the proud owner of a 240z! I'm just waiting for the right deal to show up. If I do sell my 280zx, then I'll probably just throw in an l28 and 5 speed, and stay carbureted for the time being.

Edit: So, just doing some light reading and from looking at the map for my turbo I'm thinking 14-15lbs MAX for boost. I really would rather not blow the engine immediately, and I'll likely run it lower on a daily basis. I'm still unsure on the engine management side of things though.
