weber...pvc??

Hi all, I'm installing a triple web set in my z. On the original su setup, there's hose that goes from the engine to the pvc valve which is connected to the intake manifold. My question is, what should i do with that hose with the weber setup? I can't put it through the intake manifold cause it's not stock. I've read the manual, it said air flow through that hose to the pvc, through the intake manifold and back to the engine. So where should i direct that hose with the new setup? -Kevin

drill and tap on your manifold, then just use a stock pcv valve. be sure the tap is the pipe thread type.

If you don't have to go through any smog, I'd definetly not hook it up. On my '77, I just put a freeze plug in the side of the block where the tobe came out of, and left a breather filter on the valve cover. the motor ran just fine, and did not experience that bad idle syndrome when the dipstick was not seated all the way.

yeah i don't need smog...YAY!!!!I've put a filter on the end of the hose...it runs great. Only need to get the weber tuned. :D

if you dont have pcv, you are going to have some nasty carbon build up in the block.

From what I understand, a PVC only works at certain times when the vacuum is at the right level, and with a breather on the valve cover it's venting all the time, but without any suction. This would lead me to beleive that the amount of blow by in the crank case would be about the same, and carbon build up would not be an issue. Although, I would be curious as to how the motor looks which I did this to. The new owner has put about 25k on it since it was sold, without any problems.

pcv operates at idle vaccum, it applies vaccum to the block and fresh air is brought in via valve cover breather.

I don't know about carbon build up. What i did was plug up the hose that goes to the pcv valve. I've notice some type of smoke was coming out of the breather valve when i had it started in my garage. Is that a bad thing? or is that a common thing? Anothing thing is what would carbon build up do to your car?
here i've attached a picture of what I did...two filter..one onthe breather and one on the tube.
Sorry for the bad quality

So air is actually circulated into the valve cover, down by the timing chain and out through the side of the block? I didn't know that.

carbon build up and plug oil galley holes .
