turbo z Diff question
 

hey, im going just gonna go ahead and replace the diff in my z just because the current one has had enough. i drive a 1970 240z with an 82 zx turbo motor in it, and i don't really know what gear ratio i should go for when i put this new diff in. my friend suggested going for a 4:11, but i've since heard otherwise. any suggestions would be appreciated.

you don't want to use 4.11 gearing - you'll run out of gear before you make max. boost

yea, thats what i've gathered. at this point i've also heard suggestions for a 3:70 and a 3:56. is there anything that would ultimatley be best?

3.7 vlsd from an 88 300zx turbo would probably be optimal. if you want to go the cheap route, go with 3.55 r200 from a 280z
