Turbo L28 in a 71

i want to drop a turbo in my 71 240. I already got an intake manifold. what kind of turbo should i use? what kind of injectors shoud i use? what ECU should i use? do i need aftermarket pistons or will stock dished aluminum pistons work? should i use an L28 block with a P90 head?

dude, go to the local junk yard and buy a 79 - 83 ZXT engine, computer, and wiring harness. They're the same engine (pretty much) and already set up for turbos. 79 - 80 models have the least smog stuff on them. I just pulled a '83 zxt from my '82 zx. I didn't have the wiring harness. So I couldn't swap the computer.

I agree. Find yourself a complete 280zxt driveline.. or better yet a whole car and simply (hehe yea simply..) transfer it all over.

You are already gonna need a 280z FI fuel tank, a 280 fuel pump (high pressure now...) your stock ign will not work.. not enough juice. there is quite a lot of stuff needed.. that is why a doner car is a good idea... and no the fuel tank from the 280zx will NOT fit the first gen Z's.

If ya can't find the whole car, you definately need the engine parts.. the intake already has the proper injectors, .. the proper ecu to run the engine etc..
and aftermarket FI system will run $2K min.

Good luck!
