Triple 40mm Webers

If you install a triple 40mm Weber carb set up on a stock 240Z, and keep your foot out of it (drive like Grandma) what kind of gas mileage can you realistically expect?

I dont know, but I have webers 40 on my car and I get about 10 to 15 mpg but I drive like a bat out of hell. My motor is also a 3.0 liter with all the trimming.

Re: Triple 40mm Webers

Realisticly a set off triples will not give you any power gains or run right on a stock 240. They will give the engine to much gas it can suck in enough air to properly use those carbs efficiently. Even if your Z did your gas mileage would not be very good. If you swap an L28 block into it with a good head those carb will work fine but you still won't really be getting good mileage out of them. They real good for power if your motor is tweaked a bit i.e. cam and exhaust minimum. I have a buddy in Everett WA with a 240 and trip's on it and I get him off the line and usually stay a couple of carlinks ahead of him. His is all stock except for exhaust and triples, Mine is all stock with exhaust and SU's. Enough blah blah Those really aren't the right carbs unless you plan to tweak the motor. Which every Z driver will eventually!

What turns? There all straight to my Z
