anyone got any #'s, links, or opinions on the performance of 240, 260 and 280 z stick vs auto?
0-60, 1/4 mile, weight, general thoughts....stock and modified.

manual weighs about 20kg less, has slightly higher top speed and would be a fair bit qicker off the line - maybe a second quicker 0-60mph.
check www.zhome.com its got some performance comparision figures

 

My stock 240Z auto could pull the 0-60 in ~9s. The same but in L28 form was 7.2s. Both were with the Australian spec car, round-tops, PCV as the only pollution control & 3.90 diff.

The turbo 2.4 auto did it in 6s flat.....

manuals better, u can go sideways easier when changin to 2nd, not sure if u can do that in auto

sideways? in a stock 240Z auto, not a chance!!!
I was lucky if I could get wheelspin when doing a u-turn.

The 2.8 is another matter tho, you had to watch out when accelerating hard of the line, that you didn't end up doing a burnout.

haha.... manual feels better also, its a sports car,

stickshift has better ratios...

something funny happen the other day; i went over a speed bump and the jerk pushed my foot on to the accelerator, causing my wheels to spin. Manuals are cool
