still can't locate relay
 

I've searched all around under the dash and can not find the fuel pump relay. The replacement relay that I have looks nothing like the relays in the car. I've had several people tell me it's supposed to be there but it's not. There is a cluster of relays on the passenger side under the dash but still no match. Can anyone tell me where this relay is. . . . . .

If you have a 280Z, I could have sworn the fuel pump relay is under the hood next to the FI and FI inhibit relays. My 280Z is not stock anymore, and I've rewired my fuel pump, but the pump relay I wired is right there in the cover that the fusible links are mounted. I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me or I would give the color code to look for. I'm 95% positive the fuel pump relay is under the hood.

let me add that my car is a '78 280Z. It might be different for a '75.

uhhhhh im pretty %&$#*% sure the FUEL PUMP relay in my '78 was under the passenger seat...

noticed after the z was SOMEHOW rolled... and i was disassembling it....

Well, I have the wiring diagram in my hand as I am replying. The fuel pump relay is under the hood, along with the AC, fuel pump control, EFI, and inhibit relays. The relay under the passenger seat is the brake warning lamp check relay and some other sensor relay. If you follow the wires from the fuel pump, you will see they tie into the main harness under the dash. Note the colr and look for the same color code on the wires to the relays under the hood. They will guide you to the item. Regards,

you may also want to check the fusible links coming off the positive battery cable.....
