okay, my starter might be shot. My question is, if my starter or solenoid is shot, would this be grounds on which my fusible link would burn? Also, if this is not, what could it be?

I would personnally check all your wires I change my batt cables and all the wires to the alernater this stopped my fusable link from burning out and saved me from replacing my starter. i think you just have a bad connection somewhere. Does your amp meteer go down to 8 or less when you crank you engine? If so you are pulling to much juice which usally means a bad ground.

cool. i actually replaced the starter and it works! I still have connection issues because sometimes i have to wiggle the positive cable to gfet it to crank. Anyways, thanks for the advice.
