some people...
Someone took the little rubber stopper i had covering the antenna hole, and now water can get into the cabin through a 2-3 cm hole! What is the point of doing this- now i have to go to the trouble somethng that will work. Thanks [censored].

I don't use an anntenna at all, its just a little rubber plug. Went to thew parts store today, and the've all sold out... seems like the parts store employ people to go around stealing peoples anntenna plugs so they can sell them back to them. I laughed when i saw they censored my post

I put this little ruber one on mine that sticks staight up in the air about a foot and a half. I didn't like that so I took it off put it in front of the heater and curved it over. less wind resistance too if you curve it. I tell people it bent over cause I drive so fast. How people steal thing like a little rubber plug, the nerve

HAHA Less wind resistance ... That's kind of like the vinyl decals you see on the "Ricerz". I figure they make the cars have less wind shear, the vinyl makes the wind just slip right over. So I say the more the better.

Not enough room......? What model Z do you have? My 240-Z came with an electrically operated antenna that the previous owner had disconnected but left in the car. I replaced it with a new unit from MSA and it works just fine. On a 240, access through the inside panel is relatively easy and it was one of the quicker repairs I have made to the Z.

That sux - You could get a rubber grommet, or a cheapo antenna from Motormate/Sprints/Roccas.
I meant to have the hole filled when my car was painted, but I forgot....

AMBER:
As I recall, the antenna unit is a little less than a foot long. The MSA replacement should fit with an inch or so to spare. BTW, mine is raised/lowered using a rocker switch mounted inside the glove box. Someday I will replace that with a relay connected to the radio, but that's a low-priority project.
