Socket sizes
 

Yay it's Saturday and time to work on the car!!!

Does anybody know what size the oil drain plug is (I think it's 22mm) Cause I'm going to go to the parts store and buy a socket. Also, does anybody know what size the crank pully bolt size is?

the oil is 22... i not sure about the crank... but its large so i guessing around the same... could be 17 but memory not so grate

The crank pully bolt size is a 28mm to bad its sunday now.
How did the trip go?

Yeah, the oil drain plug was 22mm and it had a copper gasket so it took a bit of work!!! The crank pulley on mine is a 27mm. the 28mm fits but wriggles a lot. The man at the shop didn't have a 27 so I got the 1 and 1/16 inch one and it fits perfectly. It was 12 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!! and I had to walk around town for about 2 hours.

I went up and over the Rimutaka hill into Featherston and had a can of coke and a ciggie and then came back....good drive....shite she's fast now.

I changed oil for mobil 1 and put on new filter and then did the tappets cold and then hot. Then I replaced the dizzy cap and rotor and then replaced and set the points and replaced the condenser. I was gonna go for a drive then but the timing light one of the boys from work lent me was neon not xenon and so I had to paint the marks on and wait 'till night time to time it!!! crap! So this morning I got up early and rebuilt the carbs....OMG!!!!!!!! It took me about 3 hours and then about another 1/2 an hour to tune them....wot a mission. anyway pulled a worked new shape VR4 today at the lights in Upper Hutt...he was pissed...ha ha ha.

Maybe next weekend for drives. Have you got SUs or EFI on your z?

My z is EFI, and i just brought a LINK engine management for it and my new boost and EXT temp gauges should be here this weekend.
But theres no driving for me, my cars in the panel shop having the chassis checked then off to be striped and primed, then i can start refitting the engine and maybe a intercooler if i have one by then.
So its gonna be a while before i drive it again unless i win lotto.
I also have factory manuals and other books if you need some info your more then welcome to take alook at them.
