Single ITG on 3xWebers?
This is a specific question for people running the single large ITG filter over triple Webers. Do you have trouble getting the filter on and off over the air horns? I have the standard length horns (not the stubby ones) and the filter is damn near impossible to get on and off. The filter wedges against the strut tower and brake booster before it clears the air horns. Is this typical? If so, what do you do about it? I can wrestle it on and off, but it does a small amount of damage each time. With shorter air horns it would work fine, but if the whole point of the single filter is performance, why go to shorter horns?

After you've unscrewed it from the mount, reach under the filter and squeeze it thin and pull up one side, then the other.

Thanks for the response John. Will it actually collapse? It feels complete rigid. I haven't messed with it lately, but I don't remember that being possible. If it will squeeze thin, that's great. Right now it is a pain to remove or install. BTW, did your aluminum backing plate fit properly? My air horn hole centers were off and I had to do quite a bit of grinding to get it right. Once on, there is nothing wrong, but the centers were close to 1/8" off from the first carb to the third. I have a standard Cannon intake which I forgot to mention.

I went out and collapsed the ITG as you said. It worked great. I can't believe I struggled with it all this time and never knew to squeeze it. It sure didn't feel like it wanted to collapse though. It is very rigid. Now one more question... How do you clean it for best results? Soap and water, then filter oil? No oil, or ??? Thanks again John!
