short shifting kit

i was looking through the motorsport catalogue, and i came across a short shift kit. i have heard that these thing wear out a transmission pretty badly, is this true? but i have also heard that it would only do so if you shift correctly. which is true? is it worth getting or not?

i have no clue where you heard that from i had one in my 260Z turbo and it was fantastic. nice short shifts.. its something that you definetly want.. never had a prob with it
