I'm switching to carbs from my 280z Vintage racer. Got them on the way along with and intake and headers.

I really only need to power the ignition, fuel pump and tail lights when this car is done. With that being said I'm taking out all unneeded wiring and emissions stuff.

So now can you recommend a simple electronic ignition system to use with my stock distributor? Need a control module and coil.

Can I just use anything like an MSD Street Fire or an Accel 300+ kit?

Take your pick... there are many ignition setups for carb'd motors. MSD / Mallory are the usual favorites.

I've got a '78 280 with Mikunis & Mikuni intake. It's running a Crane XR700 and runs well.
