Saw a 240Z coming from Vegas today

I was driving back from Vegas today (back to S. Cal.) and I passed a white 240z going 60 with the windows down. I was wondering how it would take the heat. Since I was in a loaded truck the first climb he passed me. It looked just like my Z so I was laughing thinking I would never drive my Z to Vegas in the summer. Things looked good for the Z driver until his 60 mph fan stoped. There was major road contruction and we were stuck for over an hour. It was only a 108 degrees outside. I wouldn't want to guess how hot it was in the Z. ouch
I saw he car come out the other end before I turned into Baker. But now I really know why I don't want to take my 240Z to Vegas in the summer. lol

I drove my 240 to eastern oregon to meet my son on a fishing trip , it was 102 to 104 and I became stalled by road construction and slow traffic . My car never heated up . The temp went up just slightly while I was stopped but only a little. This was with the L-24 engine , I am installing a F-54 in few weeks , I hope it works as well.

No sweat for an old Z to keep cool.

My old 240z with an aged, worn, block and poorly tuned carbs was my daily driver in 110 degree Arizona heat. Never overheated. Heh, but it had lot of other problems.

I have been driving Z,s from the Bay area to Vegas from 83-89. And from Pocatello,Id to Vegas from 89-97. I did this drive every weekend. I have drivien every Z from 70-83. The only trouble I ran into was a blizzard in Cedar City in my 72 240Z. I had no traction and couldnot see anything. I ended up following a Semi into a rest area to sitit out.
