If i were to get 17in rims for my Z, what size tires would i need so i didn't have to adjust my speedometer? thanx.

205/50/17 or 215/45/17

be careful and make sure you have the right offset for the 17" rims, or those sizes won't matter as your tires will rub agianst the spring if you get wrong offset. Also, about the maximum size you can go on stock suspension is 225 series width, but that's cutting it real close

im not sure what the offset is, could u tell me if these would fit, and what size tires they would need so the speedometer doesn't need to be adjusted at all. Looking at the 17x7's.

holy CRAP those are expensive... go to sears and ask for the American Racing MR7 I think its less than $150 each and they look JUST like that, they come in silver, white, and charcoal for the same price, and in chrome for like $250 each or something

Oh you should know those will not work on your Z without adaptors like youll find at wheeladaptor.com or from evanz (here on zdriver) like I have on my 240Z and what Kyle has on project 240Z... good luck..

i know where i can get those konig rims for 140 a piece, and they do come in the 4x113 bolt pattern for the z, the picture they have is just the 5 bolt. i just want to know if the 7 in (wide) will rub against the springs?

That's a good price, the bolt pattern is correct, but look at the offset. I can tell just by looking at the picture that that rim is most likely a FWD (front wheel drive) offset and will not work on your Z without an adapter. Find out what the offset is.. if its something like +36 or +42 then its FWD and will require an adapter.

If its 0 offset, it should work on your Z.

Kyle has on project 240Z FWD offset rims with 17x7 and 215/45R17 and I'm pretty sure he has no rubbing.

Those are the same as the motegi's (American Racing)
They are definitly front wheel drive, we have some at work.
You will need some Fwd adapters.

kyle is also running coilovers, so he has smaller springs and can afford to run wider tires. i think 215 is hte widest you can run on stock springs without rubbing

hmm I think you can run 215/45R17s without coilovers... I'm pretty darn sure 215/50R17s will work... I'm running 225/55WR16s on the rear of my 71 with stock suspension w/ no problems :o)

Don't quote me on this but I think you will have to get your speedo recalibrated for a 17" rim. Your local wheel shop should be able to give you a definite answer. You might want to think about 16s.

I'd already answered the question before I started expressing my concern on whether or not the rims hes looking on will work without spacers :o).

Stock suspension--- 17x7 rims w/ correct offset--- 215/50/17 or 225/45/17 :o)

I run 215/45/17. They are the same loaded diameter as stock - so no changes in the speedo are required. I selected TOYO Proxies TS-1 since they are 2# lighter tan some others.

Also they do not rub - I have ran them quite a while. Used 40mm spacers from Evan - they put the wheel in the stock position -- it is a PAINLESS SETUP
