Replacing the turbo boost gauge?

How hard is it to replace the stock boost gauge to an aftermarket VDO or autometer gauge on a 1982 280ZX Turbo? Also, is the gauge a 2 1/16 or 2 5/8?

If I was you I would just get a gauge pod for the "A" pilar. You can get them in 1,2,or 3 gauge set-up. Plus it looks really good if you put white phantom gauges in them hope this helps......

...2 5/8.......it was kinda rough...or @ least it was the way i did it.....i took the gauge outta the can...got 3 "teeny" bolts (from radio shack)..drilled 3 holes through the "lip" of the old gauge face and used 3 rivets ..2underneath (to get a gap between the gauge face and the mount to let light in)..and a 3rd to secure the gauge ..more or less..a bolt goes through the front of the mounting cluster..the i put 2 washers (rivets)..then i put in the gauge face...then another washer..then a nutto tighten the washers so they would hold the gauge in.....hope that make sense....s
