Can anyone tell me the steps in the removal of the orginal radio and installation of an aftermarket for a 1981zx.I am being told that there are grounding issues.

Thanks

I can't remember everything there is to removal and installation since it's been a while, but it will take you some time to do. Also do you have that faceplate adapter that is sold at most electronic stores or by MSA? If not you can always make your own too. The book that comes with that faceplate shows the location of the screws you need to access. There are screws on both sides of the lower console. You might have to remove some of your ventalation stuff, and also there are screws that hold the deck in that you'll have to reach behind to get at. I don't remember much else off the top of my head, but let me know what else you need. I'll take another look at mine. Also there aren't any grounding issues that I had, except with the radio antenna. I still have to work the kinks out of that. Good luck.
