THE GUAGES

do I need new ones?

Creator 11-10-2003 06:29 AM

doesnt look too bad at all, its gonna need some scrubbin in the engine compartment, and those carbs will have to be removed and cleaned. if/when you buy it, i'd invest in a serious power washer, or sandblaster to clean up that engine bay heh.

I got a pressure washer

it is 1400psi, eletric, it has a rotary nozzle and a regular nozzle:)
As soon as I get it I will sand the rust spots and put some black primer on it.

mud

there is about 2in of mud under the z from the washoff from the driveway and another 2in of leaves. I cleaned the driveway for the current owner for $50 except where the z is.

all of that junk

on the underside of the car is from the pressure washing when I cleaned the owners driveway that is rust above the tailpipe

man, I hate to tell you, but it looks like a rustbucket under the car. This can cause problems, especially if the frame has some rust on it, because that'll be the weak spot. I can't remember his user name, but for example, one of the guys on Zdriver bought a Z and took it home. He knew that he had frame rust. He went to jack the car up, and the frame actually crumbled where the jack was sitting due to the rust that was on it. I'd recommend doing some good frame checks, and maybe taking it down to a body shop to see what's going on before you make an investment you're going to regret.

that is not rust

it is dirt from where I pressurewashed the driveway. I am going to buy it tomorrow midday and will post some clean pics soon after. Before I pressurewashed the driveway it looked a whole lot better. The only rust is on the body and exhaust. The frame is solid because I hit it all around on the frame front and back and it sounds solid so it must be solid. (solid argument)
