P90a heads suck!!

my p90a sucks...
1) the lifters are too expensive.
2) ther lifters are too expensive.
3) the lifters are too expensive.

i want my car to run right. it wont because of the stupid lifters. i had a head shop in town rebuild it and do head work. he said he did not prime the lifters. this is now causing the lifters not to fill with oil. which makes them tap, and make the car sound like a desiel. he said the lifters could have air lock. which means new lifters. which are expensive. now i now he should pay for the lifters and what ever else damage he did but i know the shop will refuse. what to do? lifters are to expensive for this head. i want my car back. its been a year. i have put so much time and effort into this motor. and now i can even drive it because of the lifters. this sucks

Re: P90a heads suck!!

Well have you thought about getting an 81 or 82 P90 head instead? They don't have the hydraulic lifters... I am sure you can pick up a whole head used for a reasonable price. (I got a complete engine with a P90 for $200US)

I've talked quite a few friends out of using the P90a for the exact reason you state here. Pricy!

Re: P90a heads suck!!

well the reason why i dont wanna swap out heads right now is because the whole motor is together. i have already started it and ran it for a while. going back with the p90 would be a pain in the ace, removing everything to take the head off. i just want to be able to drive my car.
thanks
brian

Brian,
You can remove the expensive hydraulic adjusters and replace them with solid adjusters. That's what is in my P90a!
