no oil press.on 240
 

1971 240z
eng rebuilt. new bearings, rings etc.
started engine...0 oil press.
installed new oil pump. removed dist and shaft and used a drill and driver to prime pump. installed a mech oil press gauge in eng comp. ran drill for several minutes and still had 0 oil press on mech oil press ga.
removed valve cover and ran drill. oil is oozing out of cam shaft. any thoughts on where or what the problem is?

Did you first fill the oil pump & oil filter? You'll probably never get pressure w/o priming them first:
