Newbie Z owner

Hey guys (andgirls),

I'm a new to this furom and new to owning a Z at that. I just got a 83" Datsun 280ZX Turbo. It's nice need's work though, wich is good cuase I'm more of the hands on do it yourself type. I just wanted to here some suggestions on what is the car actually capable of ? Also is it really as fats as ppl say it is ? I mean I have gone pretty quick in it from time to time. But I just don't see it being all that fast. Also I want get this car ready for nopi you know the Nopi Tour(see www.superstreetonline.com). So I wanna know if there's any sites that can help me out with that.

There is a lot of potential from your car. Some forums are hydridz.com, zcar.com, and zhome.com. Those have a lot of information on them. 280ZXT's are pretty underestimated cars from most people. Stock they are decently quick, but with some minor mods, you can make it quite fast. I am currently working on my ZXT and with an intake, exhaust, and coil as my only power mods, I have run a 14.72 as my best 1/4. The total for the mods is 400 bucks. Stock the car ran a best of 15.3. Just as quick as some Type R Integras, and faster than a GSR. (my friends own them) Good luck.
