I have a 77 280z and a 81zx. zx is for parts does anyone know if parts will swap over cause i know some will but like the block, pistons, head,valves ect. if anyone know these things or knows what web site that can tell me i would be happy.

 

the trans will fit i have it in mine now i just need to know about the engine cause my pistons are dished and the zx has flathead. and the head on the zx were done not to long ago so i need to know if the head fits i know the intake and exhaust are different

 

ok becarefull with doing the flatop pistons on the N42 head as teh N42 head has a different combustion chamber design that is more prone to pinging at the higher compression around 10:1 ..... but it can be done

if your 280ZX head is a P79 or P90 head don't put it on the N42 block as it will drop the compression and make your car slower .. so dont do that

the best solution would probably to put the 280ZX motor in if it has less mileage on it..
