Need help with power windows

Hi, new to the group and to Z's. I have an 82 280ZX with power windows that don't work. I've been told there is a relay behind the passenger kick panel. When I take this off and move the fuse box out of the way there is a metal panel with a good sized hole in it. The only thing I can find in here is a black plastic block with wires hooked to it. After taking out the two screws that hold it in place I still can't remove it due to the wires not being long enough to let me pull it down through the hole. Pushing it up above the panel pushes into lots of wires. First is this the window relay and second how do I get it out from behind that metal panel? Thanks for the help, great forum!!

Re: Need help with power windows

I've had issues with my power windows before, and the only problem with mine was that the connectors on the switches got a little bent over the years, all you have to do is pop the switch out and take a look, and if the connectors (the female ends) all look rectangle, you're good, but if they've been stretched, then if you bend them back a bit, it'll help!

The Beast is back and badder than ever!
