My Z is smoking alot!!!!!!

O.k., here is what happened. I recently noticed my gas mi. dropping and was planning to look into it (no time/money). Then yesterday when it was time to come home from work, I tried to start my car and poof, smoke, lots & lots o' smoke. It was both dark & light grey & smelled strongly of gas. The car also choked & sputtered like it had been flooded then died. The funny thing is that when I started it again it smoked for a minute then ran fine. Oh, my oil pres. was fine. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry about the length.

Might just need a tune could have been a bit flooded from when u turned it off. My Z smokes a bit I think becaue one of the oil rings is rooted I wanna rebuild it but not sure if I should cause it still runs hard and good oil pressure. Could also be valve stem seals.

Your fuel pressure could be very high due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Or, the vaccume hose that controls the regulator could be cracked causing inconsistant pressure.

Also, your head temp sensor might have a bad wire connection. Check and clean the connection for that. If you disconnect the head temp sesnor, the car runs very rich... actually, it barely runs at all with that disconnected
