More fuel probs.
 

I fiiled my tank up, went for a mile drive since it has been driven since July 2002. I has been started though but this is what happened a day later. The smoke is Black/brown. We started the car and let the car rev for about a min @ 1500-2000 rpms. Black/brown smoke was pouring out. We let off the gas and it idled low & then cutoff.

We disconnected the hose from the top of the fuel filter to get rid of some gas. The gas would shoot into our container but the car would still be running! We was thinking that the car was using the return fuel to keep it running. When we thought we had enough gas out of the system, we would hook everything back up. With the hoses back in place, the car wouldn't start. Unhooked the hose again at the fuel filter, the car started right up. I don't have the line crossed. When we hook the hose back up, the car won't start. Should I be checking the fuel line on the char canister? At this point, I'm pretty sure it's the fuel system.......Come to think about, We did still have the CSV connected. This is probably the reason why it stayed running with the hose disc'd....Anybody.......Back to the video tape!

Well, here's a shot in the dark. Have you switched the pressure and return hoses to your fuel rail, so your filter is on the return line? If you actually disconnected the pressure side, there is NO WAY the car will run - it will not even start.

So maybe by opening up the return from your pressure regulator, you enable fuel to pass through the rail...I know, it's a stretch, but it's all I can come up with. I would double check with the FSM all the fuel line connections.
