mitsubushi FTO vs STOCK 260z
I just had to post this hear, tonite i went out just crusing around the melbourne area, looking for someone to have some fun with, i saw lots of nice cars all goin PSSSt with there BOVs, but couldn't get any red lights with anyone, i thought i'd call it a nite so i went home, but on my way home i saw this red FTO ( not sure if you get these in the states, but they are 2 door mitsubishi's with 4 cylinder engines) this car was swerving in betweeen traffic, and he picked on this nice looking datsun 1600 (510), and i was thinking that he might take me in my stock 260z, L26 with boat anchor carbs 5spd. so i get a good red light with him, but i didn't think he saw me because it was a 3 lane road, and there was a family car in between us. but he saw me, he skidded off the line and me not realising i didn't get a good take off, but even that i stayed with him all the way just about, up to 100kph (60mph) he thought he killed me, next red light i reved my L6 up to around 2500 3000, tires chirped reved up to 5500 quick changed to 2nd and i was at least a good body over him changed to 3rd and i was still just a body over him... got up to 100 speed limit was 80, so i stoped racing...
goes to show that a STOCK L26 with crappy carbs, an't that bad for a 26 year old car... vs a 95+ car.. hehe i love killing cars that costed Au$25,000 (US$14,000) and my little datsun only spent AU$5500 (US$2500) on
gotta love the old datto

Re: mitsubushi FTO vs STOCK 260z
It depends on the skill of the driver. My daily driver is a '91 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton Cummings with a 5 speed and I have raced my friends '69 Chrysler 300 with a 440 and I beat him regularly. He pulls on me slightly between shifts, but not enough to make much of a diff. I love racing people in my big redneck express truck. I hope I get as much enjoyment out of my '72 240z
Speed kills, but you get there faster and make all who is slower feel bad.

Re: mitsubushi FTO vs STOCK 260z
That depends, the FTO can be anything between an auto 2L V-6 through to a Tiptronic 2L MIVEC V-6. I would want to be in a 240 w/L28 in a good state of tune before I messed with a MIVEC FTO.
There are also a few FTO's going around with the HKS turbo kit on them. They will outdo a Supra RZ, so driver beware....
