Misfiring
Hey guys, got a 73 Z. The other day it was running fine, but I started her up today and she was misfiring. I'm thinking it's the plugs or wires. I just got the car and don't know too much about them.

check the balance hose the hose on the bottom of the carbs that adjusts the mixture of the front carb, mine was torn on the backside and I spent 4 days checking things out until I found that

checked that today. they were fine. any other suggestions?

Smoke; are the carb pistons free?
if they are round tops there will be a little metal rod that stick down at the bottom of the carb left front corner press it up gently and make sure it moves the piston up, also make sure you have damping oil in the reservoir on top 20 wt or ATF if they are flat tops gently ease a thin screwdriver in the throat and free it up (you may want to unscrew the dipstick on the carbs before trying this it removes the oil resistance) |
