Manifold vs header
Can anyone tell me if headers realy make a big difference VS a fully ported L28 manifold. The dilema is that the header I have will require about 75$ worth of work, so I can port match it,( the head's exhaust ports are bigger which would cause reversion with the header the way it is). The manifold I have is already ported so theres no work to be done there. The engine is far from stock. Any input would be greatly helpful.

Re: Manifold vs header
I went through this decision last year. When I weighed the experience of the people i was getting feed back from it was clear that a ceramic coated stock manifold is nearly as good as a normal header. At the suggestion of the exhaust shop that install my exhaust I had the stock manifold Ceramic Coated and refaced. He could have sold me a Hooker Header costing 500.00 plus with the coating. So far I am very happy with the results. The responses I got at the Pacific Northwest Historics races (Kar Korral) this last weekende was 9 to 1 in agreement with my choice. The only people (with experience) I could get to say go to a header is on a full race motor that needs additional breathing. Good luck
