at a loss...

I've tried everything short of a complete rebuild to get my '83 ZX back in running order, fuel pump, plugs, wires, cleaned out the air regulator.....hell you name it. Everytime I crank it, it lopes HARD, blows buleish/white smoke, and won't idle unless I keep my foot on the gas and the rpm's between 1K and 2500. I let off the gas and it stalls. I give it more gas to rev the motor and it bogs. Granted, I should be shot for letting it sit for 4 years, but it used to work fine, and I even dorve it to work for a month last year. Then she just quit on me. Wouldn't even start. At least now, she starts...
Any ideas???

Re: at a loss...

When it runs does it sound like it fires on all cylinders? Have you checked your fuel injectors out and the connectors? If it was sitting for 4 years those plastic fuel injector connectors can go bad and not be connected all the way giving a bad signal to the CPU, I had to replace 3 already. Still, blue smoke isn't giving a good sign cause that means oil burning...

Re: at a loss...

The injectors seem to be fine....like I said, short of a rebuild, I'm at a total loss.........
I'm thinking of messing with the fuel/air mix. The plugs are wet when It totally stops running.
