Just got a 75 280Z

Just got it from my brother for 300 bucks. Has an extra engine, 2 extra trannys, 2 ECU's , wiring harness, all the extra glass, Extra body parts, etc. I havent gone through all the parts yet, but most are from a 77 280Z, and the motor and 1 of the trannys are from my old 78 280. The motor from the 78 is a L28E I believe. It all runs, and im not really lookin turbo or anything yet. Just joined up to get some guidance from you fellas that are keen on the Z's. I havent had one in over 10 years.

Thanks. What would be the difference in the 75 ngine thats in it now, and the engine and tranny I still have out of my old 78? Would the 78 block and tranny be something I would wanna build a fresh engine out of??

The later motor is rated at a higher power level. The block however should be indenticle so it wouldn't really matter which block you rebuild.

OK thanks. Just seen it has a chevy 80 amp alternator in it as well. Something about bypassing the voltage regulator the guy told me. It also has an extra rear end. Will a hood from a 77 with the side vents fit on a 75??

Sweet. I'll just strip it, Body work it and get it ready for paint then. Anyone got links for a good retailer with a nice selection of interior parts??

head into the 280zx section of the forum and on the main page there is a sticky on where to buy parts. There are a lot of places on there that carry interior parts for these older Z's.
