internal wastegate

If a turbo comes with an internal wastegate can an external still be added? Will the internal wastegate need to be removed? I keep reading that an external wastegate gives you more control.

AN EXTERNAL ONE IS NEEDED WHEN YOU UPGRADE TO A BIG TURBO. WHATS THE POINT PUTTING ONE IN THERE AND REMOVING YOURS WHEN ON YOUR SMALLISH TURBO CONSIDERING ITS PROBABLY RUNNING SMALL POWER OUTPUT. YOU ONLY CAN BOOST AND BLEED TO A CERTAIN POINT AND THEN THE TURBOS EFFICIENCY DROPS. KEEP YOURS ,BOOST AND INTERCOOL OR UPGRADE TO AFTERMARKET TURBO AND EXTERNAL WASTEGATE. EXPENSIVE STUFF.
