iNSane SR20DET 240Z/260Z on Ebay

Yow! This is one fine car.... Tho I'm still against the 4banger in a Z, he's done a good job.

The item is listed as a 240Z... but his vid says 260Z.

Nice vid. Wont make much of a street machine but it would make one hell of a track car.

That car is still too narrow and the wheelbase is still too short to really get the most out of it. I like it, but it's kind of like a really hot Midget... Sure, she's hot... But she's still a midget :)

Short wheel base and 400HP = parking lot fun :D

I dont know that $16000 is worth a few donuts though

As opposed to a ZX? Wheelbase is only 1" shorter and 2" narrower.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome. I'm a die hard Z guy through and through... I wouldn't do all that to my 280ZX either though. My car is a midget with high heels :) . Now the Z32 on the other hand has a better platform to work with... of course it's also a lot newer technology too. I'm sure that car is wicked awesome. I just personally wouldn't go to such extremes with it. I would enjoy it for what it is. There's nothing wrong with upgrading, Lord knows I've done a ton on my S130. I just thought it was a little overkill is all. I wasn't baggin' on the platform. Long Live the almighty Z car!

well...... considering a tiny lightweight Radical holds the record at Nurburgring

those things are 3ft tall and powered by motorcycle engines... and they are the bloody fastest things on 4 wheels.....they even beat the Fourmula 1/ prototype cars....

We have some die hard Z32 track fans.... and they are FAST.... but they dont turn so well... unfortunately for them... there are not many tracks that will let them stretch their legs fully....

just because it has a short and narrow wheelbase doesn't mean you can't get a lot out of it.

look at this thing below
http://youtube.com/watch?v=5fpfv8FsN...%20gear%20atom

It's performance is on par with an enzo. A small wheelbase can be a good thing too. Look at how damn popular miatas are for autocrossing. Miatas are kickass on really technical courses

Rod...

Nurburgring relates to every type of driving you will encounter....

It has a relatively long straight... LOL!!!!

It has a relatively large and diverse selection of turns.....

It is a relatively LONG course....

It has relatively huge elevation changes....

Small wheelbase... narrow track... relatively low horsepower cars are the Lords of the Ring....

A Radical might not be a good choice to win at a NASCAR Oval track.... But NASCAR is not racing either... NASCAR is a distant RELATIVE of real automobile racing...

I run my 150WHP, 2000lbs 240Z on track with several Z32s.... They get much higher straight line speeds than my 240Z. but I get better lap times by several seconds on large courses like VIR..... Also.. Z32s will eat tires and brakes for lunch... the 240Z wears race tires much more slowly... I get 2 events out of one set of tires... A Z32 can literally eat a set of slicks and brakes each day.

For all you drag racers who like to sit in line all day.... just to stomp a gas pedal for 12seconds... then the Z32 is the right car... If you want to run lap after lap at famous courses.... then you need a 240Z....

RodMoyes 03-15-2006 12:11 PM

^ Exactly... It's realtive to the car and the course. It stands to reason that the perfect car for that course is the one you mentioned... I was agreeing with you... :)
