Hey yall.. please please take a look at this and give me some input. Theres two of us on the zcar.com forums experiencing the same problem but with no results.. can anybody help?

You can manually prime the entire engine by removing the drive gear from a spare oil-pump/distributor drive shaft & installing it into your engine. Then install a distributor & drive the pump with a cordless drill in reverse (grab the dizzy cam-lobes with the chuck). Keep the revs down to only a couple of hundred. You will know when the oil pressure is up, as the load on the drill will be substantially increased. You will be able to get upwards of 30psi using this method.

When satisfied, remove the oil pump & install the correct drive shaft.

It would also pay to make sure that you have installed relief valve correctly in the base of the pump. If the spring is missing, the pump will just circulate oil within itself.
