Help with electrical problem, PLEASE!!!

I've got a 1970 that is very drivable, minus one small detail. The driving light/interior light fuse (3rd down on the right, under the headlights) tends to overheat over time. Current across the 20A fuse is 10A.

I need to know if this is "normal" current for this circuit. If you've got a 240, especially a 1970 it would be GREATLY appreciated if you could measure the current across the fuse on your car. IF you don't know how to do this, please don't try it. Measurements on 71-73 cars would also helpful if a 708 can't be found.

As an alternative for those of you without an ampmeter, a resistance measurement with the fuse pulled (resistance across the fuse block) might suffice... IF you're located near Austin TX and are willing to let me make a measurement that would be great.

Providing me with this info will go a long way to cure a problem that I've been chasing for a while! Please email:

The fusebox has been replaced, the solder fix completed... The charging system is new.
