I'd say the reason you beat him is that the L28 has a sh**load more torque than the Kadet engine.
Put 3 ppl in each car & see how much you thrash him by [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

BleechZee: um nothing once your in 4th gear ??? maybe thats the case with a 280ZX .. but not an S30 ..... sure it starts accelerating more slowly around 180km/h but i dont have much of a problem

Well, not nothing in 4th. Still a lot more than a late model 4-banger. But you know, the torque goes down a lot from 3rd to 4th. But hey, my Z might weigh more, but thats why it comes stock with a lower rear gear. I really was comparing it to accerating about 100mph against a Porshe turbo or some V8.... but I'm sure your 500 pound "S30" is faster than any of those.
