GEEEZ! finally I found the motor #...

Engine = L28
Casting Code # F54
Taken from my car, and checked agaist: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/2824/engine.html

"The F54. According to the factory has additional webbing cast between the cylinders for more rigidity and to promote better cooling, compared to the N42 block,
In addition, all Datsun did to make the F54 a turbo motor was to replace the flattop pistons with dished ones ( to lower compression), and add a turbo head with better exhaust ports. So there really isn't a "turbo block", the substitution of parts is what creates the different motor".

Well..there it is...Sounds like a good motor. I still wish I could find the people that built it, so I can get more info.
One step at a time...
My next pics will be when the Z is ready to race. I am still debating whether I want to paint it Yellow Porche, or one of the original "Candy apple red" that the 1975 Z had...But who knows...I should be done in another month, and I will be putting "Video" files of it racing in Morosso speedway, what's so good about putting "large" pictures of a finished car, if you can't see it actually running?.

Zeee YA! and thanks for the feedback guys...some of you really seem to care...I said "some" of you...don't get too happy

You might trying to run a compression test on her
after she gets warmed up and see what kind of
psi are in each cylinder. That will give you an idea
if it has higher compression then stock.
