fuel injector cleaner
 

Is it true that fuel system cleaners (the stuff in the bottle at pep boys) will damage the injectors on Nissans? I was told that it did by a NAPA mechanic. I have not heard this form anyone else and haven't seen anything on the forums about it. I'd like to try it out if it's safe, but I want to know what you guys think. Thanks

Hi if you are talking about the fuel injectors cleaners at the stores such as pep-boys checkers and autozone. No they don't harm the injectors. I have used them on both my 83ZX and my brother's 79ZX and my other friends with Z's and until today I have had no problem. In fact it has kept our cars running smooth. So I don't know why he said that, unless he has some facts to back his statement I would not believe him. As for me my facts are my cars. I have my car since 97 and I always use a fuel system cleaner. good luck
