Fuel Gauge not reading correct?
 

Hola people hope anyone can help me. I have an 83 NT 280ZX. I have an electronic gauge. The fuel gauge is not reading correctly. How do I know this is because. The gauge goes up and down sometimes. Yesterday I fill up the tank. As soon as I left the gas station. the Gauge was reading about a quart. then it when up and marked full. in about ten minutes it was marking half and then it continues the same cycle. empty half and full. In the mornings when I start the car it reads empty it stays like that for a while and then it will read full and so on. Once in a while it reads correct. but it is getting difficult to know when it is correct. Well hope anyone can help me. thanks...

Check your ground connections on your wiring harness under the dash. Then check all connections at the gas tank. If all this checks out, you might have to replace the sending unit. Look for loose or rusted ground wire connections and or coroded. Good Luck
