Front wheel hub
Hey guys
I havn't worked on my 280z in a while. Kind of got bummed when my wire wheels didn't fit, but I can't seam to shake off the idea of dayton style wire wheels.
So here is my thinking...I want to get hold of some spare front wheel hubs and take them to a machine shop and have them mill down the center of the hub as to accomodate the universal adapters in order to fit my Z with some dayton style wire wheels.
So my question is: will the front hubs from a 1979-83 280zx fit my 78 280z? I really don't want to experiment with my own hubs, in case it won't work. And there always seams to be a zx sitting at the junkyard.

I tried to see if that was possible and the zx hub will go on the spindle. The inner seal diameter is different but you could take measurements for the correct size. I didn't get to the rotor fitment and the caliper alignment. The rear hubs and drums could be redrilled or do a disc conversion.

Hey theRamz
Sorry for late reply...but after posting the same question on 3 different forums and no response...I gave up on it. I have been busy building a cafe racer motorcycle...another cheap, but fun project...so the Z has been put on the back burner for now. I will try to find some 280z front wheel hubs cheap, and have a machine shop mill them down. Thanks for your response.
