I believe its when you disengage the clutch, put the stick in neutral, let off the clutch. Then disengage the clutch once more and put it in the next gear. Do all this while keeping your foot on the accelerator and you have to do it quickly. What it does is keeps the rpms from dropping to low when shifting without eating up a clutch as bad as just mashing the throttle and changing gears. Hope this helps.
