Dash removal..help !
 

Hi, I have a 76 260z, and I am trying to remove the dash. I have removed the 4 screws at the back, the screw uner each of the vents on the aide, and the 4 screws in centre (behind the console.

The dash wont even budge! what else is holding it in ?

Yeah, i tried as well, and gave up cause it wouldn't budge. I followed the haynes manual as it said and it still wouldn't move. I was trying to get the tach out to change the indicator bulb, and i've heasrd there is an easier way by unscrewing it by reaching bvehind the dash, so if that is what you are trying to do, try that first. If not, i don't know. Apparently its bloody heavy though, this could be it?

240Z dash is way different Alan ... bitch to pull out and do gauges .. they dont weight that much though

well Im in the process of pulling my dash right now and I cant get it all the way out but thats cause of the cables and wiring thats needs to be pulled. but it dosnt sound like you pulled the bolts out that hold the steering colume in place they actually go through the dash and hold it as well. try that but if you still have problems Im still going to be working on me tomorrow so e-mail me if you still have problems may be Ill have somemore info for ya. insanedrager@hotmail.com
