Convertibles

I don't know anything about any Z's being converted directly off the line in 78, but I'm sure it could have happened. Anything that has happened in hte last 10 years or so, I think I'm on top of. The companies off the top of my head that have done convertibles, or offered kits, in the last decade are ZTherapy, Hollywood Motorsports, and Origin Design. None of these is currently in business doing convertibles at the moment. I think the Origin kit is available but I can't remember through whom. Maybe try VR Engineering, www.ztrix.com, if it isn't there, there is still a lot of nice stuff to look at, and they do convertible Z's as the Ferrari rebody Velo Rossa. The Hollywood motorsports kit is now available through Z Parts, http://www.zparts.com/ads/zspider/zspider_index1.html is the ad. Z Thereapy probably has been the most common over the years, either turnkey, or homebuilt through their video, but the new owners of the business seem to only be into the carbs, and none of the other stuff. The video showed you how to cut the car, remove the roof, and use part of the roof and the hatch to make the rear deck and trunk. There have also been a few kit carsbased upon the Z that were convertibles. The Velo Rossa mention above is very nice, there was also a "kind of" Cobra called the Tomahawk for a while. I think there is onfo on that one at the Z Parts site as well.
