insurance
i own a 1970/71 240z 71 on paper 70 in actuality. anyways i was driven down the street a few days ago and this van backs out hitting the passenger fender-door of my car bent in suspension a bit frame is still straight and all but i cant drive. i had full coverage until about a month or two ago and now have liability. the van that hit me has full coverage and pretty positive they are at fault.
let me tell you a bit more about the car it is mostly original very little rust no prev accident interior near perfect and the odometer only reads 36*** ish.
the insurance company is telling me its an old car that probably isnt worth much and that they'll prob give me a bit of money then take my car. that just ticks me off cause they haven't seen the car
and don't know jack about it and i can fix the car a friend owns a shop with plenty of spare parts and all. they say i can buy the car back yadayada ya is there any control i have over this matter.
i don't want to lose my car i own 3 z's and will fight this to the grave. i even have receipts of over 5k being invested in parts and labor being spent within the last 3 years. insurance is such a scam the worst thing is that it is legal
sorry about my ranting and all this is just pure lunicy.

well, for one, who is your insurance provider? I have AAA, and they seem reasonable. Your insurance company is supposed to come out and evaluate the car before they start telling you that they have to take it, and that you can buy it back. Since you have liability only, that may be the case. If the van that backed into you has full insurance, and they agree that they are at fault, then their insurance company is liable for all damages, and should pay for them. You may have to get the car checked out and have a written notice from a mechanic stating that the car is not totaled (if it's not), and that should help you out some. If it is totaled, and you want to keep the Z, you are going to have to apply for a salvage title, but that's all I can tell you now

thanx for the reply
yeah they called back today and said that the were admitting liability and were sending a claims adjuster to look at the vehicle and see how much to give me etc afriend of mine has a shop and will help me fix he will sign a paper sying its not totaled it just needs a few parts:rfender, door skin, bumber, rcone, and a little suspension work.i could fish up all the parts for not too much and installl them i just hope i don't have to go through the hassle of buying the car back and getting a new title etc.
