cam.
im looking to upgrade my cam. i dont want anything too radical, but i do want more pep but not completely kill my gas milage.. any suggestions on about the lift and duration or stage of cam i should go with.?

id go with the one or 2 for your wants and needs if you just want a little get uo and go. mine is a bit higher than the 2, more towards the 3, and it isnt too bad, still quite streetable

do i have to replace all valvetrain as well?

i want 2 port my head an i think the stage III will be wat i will be going with after the port sounds good right

Note: Cam is ground on a new billet. Warranty on cam shaft requires use of new rocker arms, proper springs, proper lash pads, and proper professional installation.
Also... depending on which cam you choose, you might need stiffer springs. |

i going to port and polish my head, and i want to go with the stage III cam, this cam would go good with a lite port right?

I had the 274 duration cam (stage 2?) and it was pretty good. It shifted the power band up by about 500 RPM on stock electronics, but Im sure it would have run much better on a properly tuned megasquirt. I threw it in with the old rockers without any problems, but your experience may vary...

If you are seriously going to port & polish your head, do not polish the intake side. If the surface is too smooth on the intake, the fuel will not atomize properly, and it will be slower than it was before. What I did with mine was ported the intake side like a bitch, and smoothed out the exhaust side. THen I ported my exhaust manifold to match that. I actualy roughed up the intake side a little. I didn't port the intake, just cleaned it up with sandpaper.
