Broken Head Bolt

I was given a block just this last sunday, and the previous owner broke off one of the head bolts on the block. My father and I tried to drill/tap it out, but the tap just spins around, and there is no getting the bolt out. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get it out? I'm going to probably take it to Crackaway engine in Elk Grove to see what they can do, and hope for the best.

I called the machine shop and described my problem to them, and he said it would probably be somewhere around $65 or so. I'm imagining that it would be cheaper than that, since we already drilled out the middle of it and tried to use an easy out, and all they would have to do is chisel the rest of the bolt out. I may end up doing it myself, if that is what they suggest to do.

I took the block down to the machine shop, and now I'm just waiting to see how long it's going to take to get it out.

got the bolt extracted for $60, and the guy even cleaned all of the other bolt holes on the top of the block. Motor is all together again, minus air cleaner, dizzy, alternator, etc., and it's almost ready to go...I can't wait to throw it into the Z!
